The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Association is in the process of planning a law enforcement memorial to honor all officers in Lewis County who have died in the line of duty. Permission has been granted by Lewis County to use a location outside the entryway of the Lewis County Law & Justice Center for this memorial. This location is highly visible by all citizens entering the building.
Our Association’s Law Enforcement Memorial Subcommittee is researching various options for this memorial, including a granite monument or a bronze statue replica of a law enforcement officer, to name a few. A sponsorship plaque with inscribed names of donors who have partnered with us and significantly contributed to the construction of this memorial is also being planned.
We have begun our fundraising efforts and are also contacting local businesses and service clubs in an effort to solicit their interest in partnering with us to create a lasting tribute to those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting others. Our goal is to complete the memorial project in 2012. At that time, we will dedicate the memorial to all law enforcement officers who willingly risk their lives each day.
Please see the above for "LCSOA" tab for further information on how to donate and upcoming fundraising events.
